Under subcontract to Dewberry & Davis, Lane Engineering provided resident engineering services for the review of design documents and construction for this $78 million, 1,267-bed, 704 cell maximum security prison. Lane Engineering served as the Owner’s representative on site and was responsible for the compilation of field orders, change orders, requests for information, and the review of partial pay requests. The project was unique in that it is the first prison in the Commonwealth to be constructed by private funds and leased to the Virginia Department of Corrections after completion.
